The Two Kinds of Men
First things first: what do we mean by "Metro Man" and "Mountain Man"? For our purposes, we'll loosely define these two broad types of men in order to classify ourselves in a category.
Metro Men: urban dwellers who are often meticulous concerning their appearance. These men value, among other things, the pursuit of achievement and status. They're savvy and up to date and represent a modern view of "masculinity." (For our purposes, "Metro Man" does not imply a man's sexual orientation.)
Mountain Men: a man expressing the qualities traditionally attributed to masculinity. These qualities include courage and strength. Mountain Men are not very much concerned with appearance or aesthetics and they find satisfaction in working with their hands.
Neither category can contain any particular man, but we can use the titles as guiding labels for our purposes.
*Disclaimer; although one group has more traditionally masculine tendencies, neither group is any less of a man than the other. These articles are meant to give knowledge and skills to those who might not have had it otherwise.
Acceptance Is Key
